1 - Language School Overview :
The DUBLIN SUMMER SCHOOL was founded more than 20 years ago and is recognised by the Irish Minister of Education as an "English Language School for the teaching of English as a foreign language".
We specialize in all-in summer programmes for young people: our students live with Irish host families, go to English classes in the mornings and take part in afternoon activities. On Saturdays we take them on coach outings into the beautiful countryside of the counties surrounding Dublin.
The ambiente in the school is of great importance to us: we always make sure that both our classes and our extra-curricular activities take place in a friendly and very personal atmosphere so that the learning of English can be both efficient and ejoyable.
2 - Location :
The DUBLIN SUMMER SCHOOL ( Stratford College ) is situated in Rathgar, Dublin 6, a green residential part of Dublin, approximately 4 kilometer south of the city centre. Bus connection into the centre are excellent - there is a bus app. every 10 minutes and the journey takes about 15 minutes. Our host families live in the surrounding areas and are also reached easily by bus in 15-20 minutes.
Dublin city is the pulsating Capital of Ireland and has everything to offer that you would expect from a city of its size: busy shopping streets, cafés, restaurants, lovely parks, cinemas and theatres and the nearby sea with its inviting beaches and coastal walks.
There is, however, one difference to many other European cities of similar size: Life in Dublin is leisurely, Dubliners always have time to talk, stroll around and generally enjoy life. This is one of the main reasons why Ireland is such an ideal place to learn English.
