Sydney English Language Centre (SELC) is an internationally renowned English language school committed to excellence in teaching. SELC is large enough to offer an extensive range of courses and services, and yet small enough to ensure a friendly and caring environment, all in a single-shift school. SELC teachers are all highly qualified and experienced and take part in an ongoing professional development program.
SELC students come from over 30 different countries: from Europe, Asia and South America. This most diverse cultural mix helps to create the college’s special atmosphere, and not only offers you the chance to learn English, but also to learn about cultures from around the world.
SELC students consistently perform well in language tests such as Cambridge, IELTS, TOEIC & TOEFL examinations. SELC is an English Australia (EA) member college and is fully accredited by the national accrediting body NEAS. SELC is also a TOEIC testing centre, which allows students to prepare for and sit the exam at the one location.
The quality of SELC’s English for Academic Purposes course is recognised by the wide range of tertiary institutions that accept SELC students direct without an IELTS score. Over the years many SELC students have progressed onto further study in Australia, from Certificate programs through to post-graduate studies.

The college is situated in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, one of the city’s most popular and attractive areas. It is only minutes from public transport, excellent shopping and restaurants. It is close to many places of outstanding beauty; such as the world-famous Bondi Beach, which lies just 10 minutes by bus to the east, and the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge to the west that are only 15 minutes away by train.
