Our teachers are professional, experienced and caring. They are fully qualified according to Canada Language Council guidelines (TESOL training in addition to a university degree), and many have or are pursuing postgraduate study in English-as-a-second-language teaching. Our teachers are also highly involved in professional teaching organizations, and many have presented workshops at teacher conferences. At Hawthorn-Vancouver, teachers go into the classroom with an interesting, well-planned lesson with clear English language goals. These goals are reached through a variety of in-class methods and activities, to keep students involved and interested. Teachers also take their classes on trips outside the classroom to bring English lessons to life. Of course, our teachers also test students regularly and give monthly written assessments. And this is just what our teachers do in class! Outside of class, our teachers work hard to find good materials and to create interesting activities. They also think about unusual and useful club ideas, and they lead these after-class clubs for all students who want join. Teachers are also available outside of class time to help students who have questions about English or life in Canada. What programs do we offer? Hawthorn-Vancouver (Canada Language Centre) offers a full range of general and specialist English courses for students of all English levels. Our General English program encompasses Speaking and Listening (Conversation), Reading and Writing (Oral Grammar), IELTS, TOEFL and TOEIC. Students have the option of choosing the full-time or part-time General English program. Our other full-time programs include Business English, Cambridge and English for Academic Purposes. In addition, Hawthorn-Vancouver offers English for Specific Purposes: Professional English, Teacher Training Program, and Short Study Tours. Hawthorn-Vancouver also has a unique year-round English immersion program for teens and young learners. Our classes are challenging and enjoyable, ensuring that students maintain the motivation needed for successful study.

Hawthorn-Vancouver is situated in modern premises in the heart of beautiful Vancouver and is easily accessible by public transportation. The school occupies four floors of an office building and its central location makes it ideal for students who wish to explore Vancouver many attractions.
