Our Christchurch School has been operating since 1993, and in 2004 we opened a school in Wellington. Both Schools are situated in the city centre, with all the places of interest, including shops, banks, restaurants and all the city bus services, just a few minutes’ walk away. The atmosphere is very friendly, and people soon feel at home. At the same time, we ask everyone to study quite hard! You can join our General English classes at any time and stay for as long as you wish. In the mornings, you follow an internationally-recognised course with grammar and vocabulary development, and also practice in the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. In the afternoons many students take English for Communication, but longer-term students can choose between options such as Skills (reading, writing, listening) or preparation for the TOEIC examination. For our examination classes we have fixed dates, and courses run for 6 or 12 weeks. The main examinations offered are IELTS, TOEIC and First Certificate. Students are required to take a special entry test to check their level of English before they can join these courses. Outside school hours, we offer a number of different activities such as sports, parties, competitions and local visits. At weekends, there are excursions for you to join. For accommodation, we recommend homestay. We have many friendly, welcoming families who are pleased to accommodate students in their home. We can also arrange accommodation in student apartments.

SES Christchurch has its own attractive, older-style building, located in Worcester Boulevard, a peaceful, green part of the city. We are just a few minutes' walk from Cathedral Square, close to the library, post office, banks, restaurants and shops. The new Art Gallery, the Arts' Centre, the Canterbury Museum, Hagley Park and the Botanical Gardens are all just a few minutes' walk away. We also have a branch in Wellington - the Capital city of New Zealand. SES Wellington is located in a modern building right in the heart of Wellington's shopping and entertainment district. The library, galleries, and the national museum (Te Papa) are all just a few minutes' walk away, as is the harbour.
