1 - Language School Overview :
Formby ILC is a small Language Centre in the north of Liverpool, close to the seaside, offering professional courses to small classes in a friendly, attractive school. As a Centre for ESOL, we offer General English and Business English courses, alongside classes in Cambridge and IELTS exam preparation. Our teachers are highly qualified, and have run teacher training courses in Europe, Africa and Latin America. In addition to English, we teach Spanish, French and Italian, and occasionally other languages such as Turkish, Thai, and Mandarin Chinese. We offer particular expertise in IELTS. Our subdivision PassIELTS.co.uk currently offers a ten-week distance learning course in IELTS Writing.

Formby ILC is situated on the edge of Liverpool - Europe's designated Capital of Culture for the year 2008. Formby itself is a beautiful seaside town to the north of the city, nestling in pine woods and sand dunes where the River Mersey meets the Irish Sea, and is home to a large red squirrel reserve. The great Irish songwriter Percy French is buried here, and the region benefits from a great mixture of Irish, Engliah and cosmopolitan influences. Formby is a short train ride into Liverpool City Centre (25 minutes) or into the relaxed traditional Victorian resort of Southport (10 minutes) with a huge range of bars, restaurants and night life, as well as the friendliest and most talkative people in England.
