1 - Language School Overview :
CPCC is a two-year college, fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award a variety of degrees.
The Academic English as a Second Language program offers a core curriculum of reading, listening-speaking, grammar and composition at 4 different levels. In addition, though not offered every semester, there are optional courses in pronunciation, business English, literature, and test preparation. Morning, afternoon, evening and Saturday courses are available; most courses last 16 weeks, but summer classes are 8 weeks, as are some classes during the regular term.
As well as the Academic English as a Second Language program, students at CPCC may complete the first two years of a four-year bachelor’s degree and then transfer to another college or university to complete. They may complete a two-year technical degree in one of over 60 technical specialties, ranging from computer-related fields to healthcare to engineering technology. CPCC Students may also study the English language in our intensive English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL) program.

CPCC has a large international student community, with students from 163 different countries. Over 7,000 of our students were born outside the United States. This means that CPCC has the programs and services to help international students be successful in their studies.
Charlotte, North Carolina, is the home to CPCC’s six full-service college campuses. The climate is pleasant, the mountains are less than two hours away, and ocean beaches are three hours’ drive from Charlotte. As a growing city (about 1.3 million people in the metropolitan area), Charlotte is also home to a variety of professional sports teams, a thriving arts scene, and a busy international airport. This is a great place to live and to study.
