Snow College is a state-supported 2-year community college located in central Utah, 60 miles south of Provo, Utah and 120 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah. Ephraim, the home of Snow College, is in a mountain valley at 5,500 feet elevation, 1,000 feet higher than Salt Lake City. It is a rural setting. Most students are surprised at how small Ephraim is when they arrive. However, by the end of the first semester they have begun to think of it as their second home. Snow College began in 1888. It is about 150 Acres in size, and has about 2,500 students and about 85 faculty. It's located in a town of 3,500 people. There is a full-time International Student Advisor on campus, providing immigration information and advice to students, as well as a coordinator of international student activities. For the last 25 years, there has been an Intensive English program at Snow College. Students who are not yet proficient in English can prepare to take regular academic courses. International student activities include shopping trips, picnics and outings, and special trips like ski trips, national parks tours, etc. Snow College is situated within 3 hours drive of five national parks: Bryce, Zion, Canyonlands, Arches, and Capitol Reef. Because Snow College is a small school, it is possible for students and their teachers to really get to know each other, and this is a great benefit for learning.
