The English Language Insitute of the University of Nebraska Kearney offers English language instruction at all level of English ability in a safe, nurturing environment in small classes. UNK offers a quality program at a reasonable rate. The tuition and fees for 16 weeks of instruction with 18-21 hours of instruction per week is only $2200. Included in the program at no cost are tutoring sessions, conversation partners and conversation tables.
UNK prides itself as a friendly campus that is similar to a private university but at the rate of a state university. Students graduating from ELI are admitted to UNK in a regualr course of study. Advanced ELI students have the opportunity to co-register between UNK adn ELI.

Kearney is a vibrant, extremely safe community of 30,000 located in the heartland of the U.S. 1733 miles from both Boston and San Francisco. The English spoken in the area is accepted by many as American standard English.
Most necessities are available close to campus but the nearest shopping mall is some 3 miles from campus. UNK organizes transportation on weekends around Kearney and the local community services offices provide transportation during the week. Host family programs are available permitting students to learn about American culture.
