Created in 1991 by academics, Institut Lyonnais pour la Diffusion de la Langue et de la Culture Françaises (ILDIF) welcomes students of all nationalities, for short sessions (4 weeks minimum) or longer ones (usually from 3 to 12 months), all year round. As an Official examination center (TCF, TEF, business french, Tourism and Hotel business), Institut Lyonnais also ensures specific, regular courses upon request. It is a member of the “Office national de garantie des séjours et stages linguistiques”.( National Office for guaranteed language training).

Lyon is the second major city in France, two hours from Paris by TGV, two hours from the Alpes, and three hours from the coast (Provence-Côte d'Azur).
