CULTURA WIEN has been established since 1987. It has achieved its excellent reputation through first-class language teaching and a friendly and personal atmosphere, both of which are essential to your learning and your feeling at home in a foreign country. We are big enough to offer a properly structured learning programme. Yet, at the same time, we are small enough to guarantee individual attention to every single student. Our staff always takes their time to answer your questions, to assist you on practical matters, give information and accompany you on cultural activities. Throughout the year CULTURA WIEN offers general German courses from elementary to advanced levels. In summer we offer package courses that also include accommodation in a student residence. At the beginning of the course you are carefully placed in the appropriate class after a written and oral test. Our excellent team of qualified and experienced teachers are native-speakers with a University degree and many years experience in teaching German as a foreign language. They are able to create an atmosphere in the classroom that makes you feel at ease in the foreign language and achieve a maximum progress in a short time. Right from the start the lessons are held in German. The aim is to make you understand as quickly as possible the language spoken around you and apply what you have learned in class. Innovative and well-balanced teaching methods will rapidly activate your German language skills. If you have previously studied German in your own country, you will soon lose your shyness and begin to put into practice what you have already learned, as well as further increase your communication skills and gain confidence and fluency in conversation. You will have plenty of opportunity for actively using your language. We use a wide range of activities to teach German, such as role-plays and discussions as well as working with authentic texts, tapes and videos. Our teachers are always available to give advice and support. Our aim is to help our students learn German in a friendly, lively and professional environment. Our classrooms are bright and have modern audiovisual equipment. Our students have free unlimited internet access in the school.

CULTURA WIEN is situated right in the heart of the old city of Vienna, in walking distance of all the major sights of Vienna, such as St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Opera or the Imperial Palace. Here in the centre of Vienna you can stroll through pedestrian zones, have coffee in one of the many famous Viennese cafés, or try some of the world-renowned pastries. You can look into the many bookstores, antiquity-shops or record-shops and thus enjoy the unique Viennese atmosphere.
