IECR is a highly professional Spanish school located in San José, Costa Rica. It organizes short and long term, intensive, language IMMERSION PROGRAMS for persons interested in studying Spanish, professional Legal and Medical Spanish courses as well as Spanish for Missionaries and Religious Organizations. Furthermore, IECR offers PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS in many different areas like business administration, legal field, social field, TEFL, tourism, hospitality as well as VOLUNTARY WORK in National Parks. Thanks to our dynamic methodology in language teaching and personalized attention in a professional and friendly atmosphere, we provide high quality in the area of Spanish teaching. Our MISSION is offering first rate Spanish instruction along with authentic cultural experience. Therefore we offer personalized attention in individual classes or small groups combined with cultural activities such as Latin Dance and Costa Rican Cooking, for an approach to Latin American culture. All IECR TEACHERS maintain university degrees, are native speakers and have many years of experience in teaching Spanish as second language as well as in providing cultural approach. Our students come from all over the world creating an international, intercultural atmosphere. Most of them are young professionals or students wishing to learn or improve the Spanish language for private or professional reasons although we also count on couples with children and people of other ages. IECR is member of ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages). Our Medical Spanish courses, which include visits to local medical institutions, have been approved by the UTMB, UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT GALVESTON.

The IECR is located in the capital, on the east side of San Jose. We are located in a quiet neighborhood of Guadalupe, close to places of interest for the students: about 6 blocks from the University of Costa Rica and 8 blocks from the biggest and most modern commercial center of San José called "Mall San Pedro" with its variety of restaurants, cinemas, banks and many stores. Around the University campus there are lots of restaurants, bars and places with live music, which means that there is something to do for everyone. It's a convenient 10-minute bus ride to downtown San Jose and a short bus ride from our homestay families; some can be reached by foot. The public transportation system in San José is very well developed. Buses can be taken every 10 minutes to all the other parts of San Jose and they run several times per day to almost any place in the country at a very low rate. Therefore San José is the ideal starting point in order to get to know Costa Rica, its people and culture. The exact address of our Institute is: San Jose, Guadalupe, residential area "Miraflores", from the former round-about del Gallito 300 meters south-east, 300 meters south and 100 meters east.
