TANDEM Madrid is a renowned centre of great prestige in the field of didactic methods of second language learning and second language research. It has been awarded the prestigious CEELE Seal (Quality Seal of Approval for the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language) three times from the University of Alcalá de Henares with the highest score for schools in Spain. In addition, we have been recognized as an Associated Center of the Instituto Cervantes. Our aim is to facilitate the learning of Spanish through the most modern and effective teaching techniques, and at the same time, prepare students for real intercultural communication. TANDEM is a solid company composed of over 80 people working in different areas (Administration and Management, Departments of English, German and Spanish) who all share the same work philosophy and the same knowledge of methodology. Our starting point is a communicative vision of teaching and a humanistic perspective, which speaks to the person as a whole. We offer: · Communicative classes, which take into account both logical and creative thinking, reason, intuition and affectivity. · A cultural program that corresponds to the social, political and cultural reality of Madrid and Spain, furthering creativity, enjoyment and communication. · Tandem exchange: As part of our program, we put our students in contact with other native Spanish people who are interested in learning English and in practicing the language. This conversation exchange enables American students to have direct contact with the culture and people from Spanish society. TANDEM is a school dedicated to the teaching of languages with a wide variety of courses: intensive, private lessons, special groups, etc. TANDEM also offers teacher training courses and courses on creating educational material. TANDEM is proud of its excellent reputation in the field of teacher training and the creation of educational material. In this respect, we work closely with the Ministry of Education and Science, carrying out numerous projects (training courses for teachers of Spanish for children of immigrants.) as well as with the Complutense University of Madrid (a Master’s program for specialists in the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language), the Autónoma University of Madrid, the University of Salamanca, The University of León (courses for specialists in the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language), five American universities, German teachers unions (advanced courses funded by LINGUA) and other institutions. We have offered university programs for the following American universities since 1989: ALMA COLLEGE in Michigan, CLARK UNIVERSITY in Massachusetts, ERSKINE COLLEGE in South Carolina, LYCOMING COLLEGE in Pennsylvania and ROLLINS COLLEGE in Florida.

TANDEM Escuela Internacional is situated between the Bank of Spain and the Spanish Parliament in a beautiful 18th century city palace that has been carefully restored. It is spacious, air-conditioned and professionally equipped with Internet facilities, as well as light and airy social areas.
