University Credits
If you are enrolled in an undergraduate course at an United States university you can gain University Credits for attending a language course abroad.
The requirements you have to fulfill in order to gain credits and the destinations where you can attend a language course vary from university to university and depend on the subjects you study. Once you have decided to attend a language course abroad you should first visit the program organiser or international office at your university where you will be informed about the specific criteria.
Afterwards contact us and inform us that you want to obtain university credits and, if applicable, specify any criteria required by your university with regard to the syllabus. The language school of your choice will propose a syllabus accordingly and transfer it to your university. Depending on how stringent the requirements of your university are, do please allow up to four weeks for this process. It might furthermore take some time for your university to approve your course.
At the end of your program, the language school will test the level of achievement you have made during the language course. Subsequently, you will receive a final mark/grade that will be transferred to your university in the US. The transferal usually runs absolutely smoothly, however it is still advisable that you go to the language school secretary before the end of your course, just to check that the school has the correct mailing address and department to send your grades to.
